10 Best iPhone Apps

Phase One: complete. You have managed to get your hands on the new iPhone. So, what next? You can push the bounds of this great piece of technology by exploring the numerous offerings on the App Store, from Utility apps – to make you more productive at work and in your personal life, to Social Media apps that keep you in the loop of happenings around you and the world at large. To get the best out of your new iPhone, I list here the 10 Best iPhone Apps you need.

10 Best iPhone Apps you need

1. Spotify

Spotify is arguably the best and largest music streaming service you can find today and is number 1 on the list of the 10 Best iPhone apps. You can stream your favourite songs on the go with this amazing app for free (although its premium service would cost you about $10 per month). Its exciting radio feature can be used to discover new songs and playlists. No data? You can also sync all of this new music to your phone and play offline.

2. Pocket

Previously known as Read It Later, Pocket allows you to save articles and stories you come across while browsing the web for later when you can give them maximum attention. Articles saved can be saved and accessed at any time, even when you are offline. On Pocket, you can tweak and adjust the appearance and text to your taste, resulting in a smooth and personal reading experience.

3. Nuzzel

Nuzzel allows you access to trending stories and news based entirely on what your family and friends are sharing on social media. This incredible app helps you keep up with your family and friends, ensuring your shared interests remain a part of your life. Since your newsfeed comes well organized and straight to the point, you are sure to never miss a beat regardless of how busy you get. It is a must-have app on my list of the 10 Best iPhone apps you need to have.

4. Google Photos

Google photo is a must-have app out of the 10 Best iPhone Apps. More storage space means more exciting moments can be captured and safely kept. Google photos store your images in the cloud, meaning you have more free storage space on your device. It is simple, seamless, and secure. Google’s easy-to-use cloud storage beats the native iCloud hands-down. Its advanced algorithm means your memories are better arranged – based on location and date – and accessible from any web-enabled device.

5. Google Maps

Have you moved to a new city or do you just have trouble finding the supermarket down the street? You need a map, and not just any map, you need Google Maps. This serves as a great alternative to Apple’s built-in maps app. With its engaging and fun projects, Google Maps allows you to geotag pictures, earn credits for discovering and naming areas, save locations offline and predict traffic in any area. In addition, Google Maps boasts a greater degree of data accuracy compared to Apple’s maps app. Plus, it’s free!

6. Snapchat

This is one of my favourite apps on the list of 10 Best iPhone Apps here. In ten seconds, share your most exciting moments with your friends with Snaps which only live for just 24 hours on their timelines. Since its inception, Snapchat has gone ahead to make a series of updates that introduced
exciting and engaging features for its users. Who can forget the popular Face Swap filter, and Flower Crown filter that even managed to make their way out of Snapchat to users’ profiles on other social networks? If you are looking for an exciting way to share your memories with friends and also keep up with breaking news and insights from around the world, this is a must-have app for your iPhone 8.

7. Swift Key

Always on the go? Have a million and one emails to send and respond to in a short amount of time? Swift Key is your life-saver! With the advent of the iPhone, Apple has enabled users to add third-party keyboards to their devices. Swift Key, as the name appropriately suggests, enhances your typing speed by adapting to your unique style of typing over time.

8. Pushbullet

Moving files, links, and basically anything from your phone to your computer and/or vice versa can be a hassle. We have all been there – file size limits, Bluetooth transfers at snail speed, and sending links from desktop to email in order to share exciting articles we stumbled upon via text or SMS.

With the Pushbullet app, you can breathe a sigh of relief. It allows users to send files – audio, image, video, and links from one device to another. Say goodbye to Dropbox and save yourself the hassle of rummaging through your wires in search of a USB cable or flash drive in order to move files from one device to another. All you have to do is connect, and Push!

9. WLPPR

The iPhone8 comes pre-stocked with, no doubt, some great wallpapers. However, who wants generic images that everyone else has? Express your unique style with WLPPR large collection of mind-boggling, and simultaneously, aesthetically pleasing wallpapers depicting images of the universe and nature in its splendor.

10. VSCO

VSCO is a photo editing app and social network all in one. It allows you to shoot and edit images using the app’s film-inspired presets and some advanced camera controls. You can also discover amazing content created and shared by other users on your network. Your images and snaps can be published for your friends to see or simply kept or curated for your personal use only.

Undoubtedly the iPhone is a truly spectacular, beautiful piece of technology, but what is a smartphone without the coolest apps!? Which of the 10 Best iPhone Apps listed above are your favourite and why?
