[su_box title=”TECNO DroiPad 7D Review ” style=”bubbles” box_color=”#186fdc” title_color=”#fcfffc”]Having had the device for more than a week now, we’ve decided to drop the TECNO DroiPad 7D review. Last week we revealed all the specifications of the 7-inch tablet when we dropped the unboxing article, it’s safe to say the DroiPad 7D is a low-end tablet device even though it’s meant to be an upgrade on the DroiPad 7C Pro. Below are our opinions on the 7D in terms of performance, high sides and low sides of TECNO’s latest tablet.[/su_box]
Design
Unlike the PhonePad 3 which had a full metallic body, the DroiPad 7D spots an all plastic body with rounded edges. Since it’s a budget-friendly device, we would say this is expected. However, the back of the tablet is made up of Kelvar texture design which gives the tablet an elegant look and a firm grip when held.
In terms of its size, its 7-inch and it is light in weight, so you should have no problem in fitting it into your back pocket.
Display
As you know by now, it’s a 7-inch screen tablet which is a big enough screen to capture whatever you want to view on the tablet. However, its resolution is not one of its strongest point as it comes with a 600 x 1024 IPS display.
We watched some videos on it, despite the resolution it still provided a nice visual experience with crisp sharpness and a wide angle display. It sound experience is also good as one can here whatever is been said very audibly.
Camera
Not much is expected of the 5MP rear camera and the 2MP front camera but it still did a decent job of producing a good image when we tested it. The picture below was taken with the back camera with the LED Flash light on.
This was taken with the LED flash light off inside a confined room.
Not bad for a picture taken in a low-light environment if you ask me.
Storage and Performance
Like we revealed last week, the 7D has a 1.3GHz quad-core processor and a 1GB RAM. It has a 16GB internal memory which is expandable up to 256GB via the SD card slot. It runs on the latest Android Nougat 7.0
Because of the 1GB, when we tried to play heavy games it started lagging. No surprises because the specifications are not targeted at high-end performance. Pre-installed applications and little bloatware took up some of the 16GB memory space but you still have like 13GB left, it certainly wouldn’t hurt to complete with an external memory card.
It is very important to note that the DroiPad 7D is the first TECNO tablet device to run on Android Nougat 7.0. One of the sweet things Nougat does is its multi-windows capability. We were able to watch two different things at a time on the DroiPad 7D.
Kids Zone Support
There can be no TECNO DroiPad 7D review without mentioning the Kids Zone feature, this is probably the most important feature of the tablet as it makes it possible for even little children to use the tablet; hence the tag – The All Family’s Choice.
The Kid Zone is a separate section on the tablet which makes it possible for parents to control and restrict their kids to some applications and features of the tablet. For Kids to exit the Kids Zone they must enter the password set by their parents.
Battery
The DroiPad 7D comes with a 3000mAh battery capacity which is average to be honest. However, the Nougat OS has battery-saving capacities which makes the tablet stay up for a longer period.
Verdict
From the TECNO DroiPad 7D review above, the device is clearly an All Family’s Choice. Despite its modest specifications, the 7D still does a great job of keeping up with the day-to-day needs of a modern tablet device. The TECNO DroiPad 7D is now available for sale at a price of N33,000 in retail stores around the country.
