Huawei Mate 10 Pro: World’s First Kirin AI with 6GB RAM and 128GB Storage

Huawei Mate 10 and Mate 10 Pro were unveiled yesterday with top-of-the-line specs. they were nicknamed intelligent machines because they both have AI Kirin 970. The one I shall be reviewing today is the Mate 10 Pro.

The Huawei Mate 10 Pro houses the world’s first Kirin AI processor which offers you a seamless, stronger and faster smartphone experience. The Mate 10 Pro was created to be fast and stays fast too. Going with the current smartphone trend, the Mate Pro is a gorgeous looking phone thanks to the FullView display with 18:9 aspect same with the likes of Samsung Note 8 and iPhone X.

Design

The Huawei Mate 10 Pro has an iconic look compared to other smartphones from the tech giant. The Mate series are known for their fantastic design and premium features.

This year Huawei Mate 10 Pro is IP67 certified, offering dust and water resistance and providing durability. Compared to the Mate 9, the design of the Mate 10 series has a major reduction in bezels which allows for a much smaller overall look. It will be available in Mocha Brown, Titanium Gray, Midnight Blue and Pink Gold.

The back of the device is made of a glossy metal that shines when held in the hands. It has its fingerprint scanner located at the back just below the dual cameras and the dual LED flash. The cameras of the Huawei Mate 10 Pro is the same with that of the Mate 10 which were joined developed by Huawei and Leica.  It will be available in Mocha Brown, Titanium Gray, Midnight Blue and Pink Gold.

Display

Designed to bring your vision to life. The Huawei Mate is an interesting phone with its expansive 6.0-inch screen which is OLED  in nature with a display resolution of 2,160 x 1,080. Interesting, the Mate 10 resolution is 1440* 2560 which is way higher than the Pro version. Huawei claimed this is to conserve the battery life of the device. You will enjoy an immersive viewing experience with HDR 10 technology on the Huawei Mate 10 Pro, it has a 6.0-inch FullView HD+ AMOLED display with 18:9 aspect ratio. Its HDR10 technology offers intensely vivid and bright colours.

Hardware and Software

Powering the specs-studded device is the new the Kirin 970 processor. It is an octa-core processor [ four Cortex-A73 and four Cortex-A53 processing cores ] with Mali-G72 MP12 as GPU. It has an AI that runs dedicated Neural Processing Unit (NPU) that can perform AI computing tasks faster and with less power. It is built with speed, responsiveness and efficiency in mind. It is smart, quick and adaptive, understands and responds to real-world situations instantly.

With cutting-edge 10 nm processor aided with 6GB of RAM and 128GB of internal storage, the Huawei Mate 10 Pro accomplishes premium performance at the speed of lightning using less power. Intuitive and simple, the all-new EMUI 8.0 with the Android 8.0 Oreo OS takes usability to new levels, ensuring easy projection and a smart screen.

Camera

The  Mate 10 Pro houses a dual back camera engineered by Leica. It is one of the highlights of the device because according to Huawei, the Mate 10 Pro has AI features that enable the camera to recognize up to 13 scenes right, including landscapes, low-light, portrait, flower, sunset, snow, cat, dog and text.

With the new Leica Dual Lens (20MP + 12MP) with a f/1.6 aperture can take beautiful pictures with Bokeh effect.
