JAMB 2018/2019 Registration guidelines and Closing date

Joint Admission And Matriculation Board (JAMB) announced the ongoing registration of the JAMB 2018/2019 Registration form. The registration process which started on the 6th of December 2017 and will end on the 6th of February 2018, is expected to sell over a million forms.

So there you have it, the much-anticipated JAMB 2018/2019 Registration form is out and selling fast. The board also announced that the MOCK examination will start from Monday 22 to Wednesday 24 January 2018. So those interested in the exam are advised to register before December 31ST, 2017.

Do you want to know if JAMB 2018/2019 Registration form is out? And if you can register for it now? Don’t you worry, i will be explaining all the 2018/2019 Jamb registration procedures to help you know how it’s done.

Before we go any further, have you created your profile yet? Please note that Jamb has made it compulsory for all aspiring candidate to create profile with them before they can register. Don’t know how to create your profile with Jamb? Stay with me as we go through the procedure.

1. Profile Registration

With your mobile phone, simply send your “Surname First-Name Middle-Name” to 55019 via SMS. For example, “Ojukwu Femi Ibrahim” to 55019. You will receive a Profile Code of 10 characters, keep it. Anything you want to undo in your profile must be from that same mobile number.

2. To Correct Mistake

If there’s any mistake on the name you sent, you can easily correct it by sending “CORRECT Surname First-Name Middle-Name” to 55019. For example, “CORRECT Ojukwu Femi Ibrahim” to 55019.

3. To Retrieve A Lost Profile Code

If by any chance, you don’t remember your profile code, simply send “RESEND” to 55019, from the same mobile number.

4. Where can you get the JAMB ePIN? JAMB ePIN selling points:

・NIPOST and the Participating Banks: UNION, ACCESS, UNITY, ECOBANK, ZENITH, FIRSTBANK, FCMB, SKYE, FIDELITY, JAIZ, STERLING.
・Mobile Money Operators: e-Tranzact (PocketMoni), TEASYPay, Paga and Packway Projects (Readycash).
・Micro Finance Banks: Regent MFB (Abuja) and FUD MFB (Dutse) only.
・Three online Payment Platforms: SystemSpecs (Remita), InterSwitch (Quickteller) and POS (Citi-Serve).
・ATMs of the participating banks and micro finance banks listed above (InterSwitch).
・USSD (NIBSS & ERCAS) for mobile banking.
・Nigerian Embassies in these cities Abidjan, Addis Ababa, Accra, Buea, Cotonou, Johannesburg, Jeddah and London.

5. What are the duties of the participating banks and outlets?

・Collect the Profile Code from candidate’s phone.
・Collect payment and send ePIN by SMS to candidate’s phone.
・Facilitate POS Payment, if necessary.
・Issue Evidence of Payment.
・Collect centre service fees.

6. How do you pay to get your ePIN for registration? There are various methods of payment.

・Banks and micro finance banks: Present your profile code and pay with cash or card. Wait till the ePIN is sent to the candidate’s number.

・POS: Go to State Offices of JAMB, CBT Centres or other verified POS outlets. Present your profile code and pay with card. Wait till the ePIN is sent to the candidate’s number.

・Mobile Money operators: CBT Centres and other outlets, just present code and pay with cash. Wait till the ePIN is sent to the candidate’s number.

・ATM: Yes, you can pay via ATM. Go to an ATM outlet of the participating banks listed above. Using the InterSwitch Channel, select “Bill Payment” choose JAMB. Enter your Profile Code and pay, wait till the ePIN is sent to the candidate’s number.

・JAMB Official Site: Visit jamb.gov.ng, click on “Purchase of 2018 Application Document”, then enter your Profile Code. You will be asked to select a payment method, either InterSwitch or Remita. Make the payment and wait till the ePIN is sent to the candidate’s number.

・Payment using USSD: From the same mobile number you got your Profile Code. Simply dial *565*6*55019#, enter your Profile Code, select Bank and follow the prompt messages to complete your payment. Then you have to wait till the ePIN is sent to the candidate’s number.

7. You lost your ePIN, how do you get it back?

Its easy, just send “UTMEPIN” to 55019 for UTME or “DEPIN” to 55019 for DE respectively, from the same number.

8. You have your ePIN now, what is the registration process at Computer Based Test (CBT) Centres?

Walk into any accredited CBT center with your ePIN, Biodata and the following documents to register.

a) Your Biodata must consist of the following;

・Full Name
・Nationality
・State of Origin
・Local Government
・Date of Birth
・Gender
・E-mail Address

b) You will also Provide qualification with grades and dates, except you have awaiting results. Once you get your awaiting results, make sure you upload them to the portal immediately.

c) Provide your institution of choice and major.

d) Pay NOT more than N700 as Service Charge.

e) Provide your UTME subjects and examination town.

f) Do picture capture (no scanning of passport photograph at the CBT center.

g) Do Biometric enrollment (ten fingers).

h) Review all entries and confirm correctness.

i) Print registration slip using biometric authentication

j) Collect the reading text and CD, make sure you don’t pay for collecting the e-slip and CD for FREE.

k) Please note that there will be no offline registration, as all the accredited CBT centres have been empowered for real time online registration. Don’t register at any centre other than the accredited CBT centre and JAMB State-Offices.

9. How much is JAMB 2018/2019 Registration form?

・The total price is estimated to not be more than N5,500. The registration form goes for N5000, while the additional N500 is paid to obtain the reading text “IN DEPENDENCE” for UTME Candidates and “The Last Days at Forcados High School” for DE Candidates.

・Registration fee for candidates in the eight foreign countries is just $20 or its equivalent in each of the eight country’s currency. Countries with these cities: Abidjan, Accra, Addis Ababa, Buea, Cotonou, Jeddah, Johannesburg and London. Candidates from the eight foreign countries are advised to download the Application from the Board’s website (www.jamb.gov.ng). Complete and submit it with the fee at the Nigerian Embassies as indicated on the website.

10. When will the exam take place?

According to JAMB Registrar, Prof. Ishaq Oloyede the 2018 UTME exercise will take place between 9th and 17th March, 2018.
