Asus Zenfone 5 Lite Full Specs and Price Review

The Asus Zenfone 5 Lite was launched at the 2018 Mobile World Congress as well, alongside the Zenfone 5 and 5z. Unlike the flagships, the 5 Lite is a little bit inexpensive and pretty much affordable than the aforementioned.

Although it houses Qualcomm’s Snapdragon chip with an octa-core processor but has a lower clock speed. Furthermore, the Zenfone 5 Lite was made for those who can’t afford the Zenfone 5 and 5z. Without further ado, meet the Zenfone 5 Lite.

DESIGN

There’s a major difference here in terms of symmetrical aesthetics, sporting a Metal overall body with glass cover. The 5 Lite is a beauty to behold and hold, looking absolutely stunning. The dual vertical cameras are now at the top middle with the dual-LED flash beside it.

Underneath the dual shooters is a fingerprint scanner, while at the extreme bottom is the Asus logo. Turning over to the sides, it measures 8.2mm slim and weighs 168g overall. The device is available in Black, White and Red colours.

DISPLAY

It’s bezel-less like the rest, reaching 76.10% screen to body ratio with an 18:9 aspect ratio. Unlike the other flagships, it doesn’t have the trending top-notch which flooded the MWC. So if you don’t like the top-notch, the Zenfone 5 is a good fit.

The 6.0-inch FHD+ IPS LCD capacitive touchscreen is as sharp as it comes. Boasting of 1080 x 2160 pixels in resolution, 402 pixels per inch density and displays stunning visuals. Protecting the screen is a 2.5D Curved Glass which offers durability, it has an Eye Care Mode technology as well.

HARDWARE and SOFTWARE

Houses the Qualcomm Snapdragon 630 chipset with Octa-core processor clocking at 2.2 GHz. Boasts of a 64-bit CPU architecture and 28nm process technology, while the Qualcomm Adreno 508 graphics processor handles graphics.

There are two versions in terms of RAM and internal storage, there’s a standard one with 4GB RAM and 64GB storage. But if you want to save more money on the Lite version as well, there’s a much cheaper one with 3GB RAM and 32GB storage.

The RAM space on the two variants reaches a memory speed of 1333 MHz while all storage space is upgradeable up to 2TB. The Zenfone 5 Lite runs on Android 8.0 Oreo out of the box with Zen UI 5.0 user interface.

CAMERA

At the back, there’s 16MP + 16MP dual rear camera with f/2.2 aperture, both cameras come with a dual-LED flash capturing 4K resolution images. At the front, there’s another dual 20MP + 20MP selfie camera with f/2.0 aperture and front flash as well.

BATTERY

The Asus Zenfone 5 Lite is powered by a Non-Removable Li-Po 3200mAh battery with fast charging technology.

PRICE AND AVAILABILITY

Asus Zenfone 5 Lite will be available for about $549 to $599 from March, that’s about (N150,000 – N200,000)
