Essential PH-1s New Color Variants launched at MWC 2018
Essential PH-1 was released early last year as Essential’s first smartphone. The company went ahead and release three new colour variants at the MWC 2018. The colours are Ocean Depths, Stellar Gray and Copper Black, which were all on display at the Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2018 in Barcelona.
These new colour options for the Essential PH-1 surprisingly costs $100 more than the phone’s initial variants. The Black Moon and Pure White are still available for purchase and retail for $499. But these new colour options are priced at $599 in the US and should get to other markets before the end of March.
These new colour variants are more expensive due to the different process it took on the ceramic backplate. The smartphone was made out of titanium and ceramic, it has a frame made out of titanium and a ceramic backplate respectively. Apart from the colour differences, it’s completely identical to the previous version in terms of design.
It measures 7.8mm slim and weighs 185g overall, which is because of its build materials. Moving over to the front, it sports super minimal bezels and the trending top-notch. The top-notch on the Essential PH-1 is a lot thinner than the one on the iPhone X.
Under the hood is still the same Snapdragon 835 chip from Qualcomm. A 64-bit octa-core processor of up to 2.45 GHz in speed for fast processing. Internally, it has 4GB of RAM and 128GB of non-expandable storage. Powering it up is a 3,040mAh non-removable battery with fast charge.
At the rear of the Essential PH-1 are dual 13MP + 13MP camera and an 8MP selfie camera at the top-notch for all your photography needs. Although the new colour variants are limited edition, they are only available in the US at the moment.
