The Huawei MateBook D 14-inch version is now official! The laptop came with a 14-inch screen and AMD Ryzen 5-2500U Processor. Huawei previously released the MateBook D 2018, MateBook E, and MateBook X earlier and it seems the company isn’t slowing down on its laptops and phones as well. The Huawei MateBook D 14-inch is the affordable variant of the first Huawei MateBook D 2018, this new edition comes with a smaller 14-inch display and is powered by AMD’s Ryzen 5 2500 processor.

In the graphics department, the Radeon Vega 8 graphics card takes charge, its Accelerated Processing Unit (APU) is a 64-bit microprocessor from AMD. The APU was initially designed to be a central processing unit (CPU) and a graphics accelerator unit (GPU) at the same time. Looking at the body, we can see it sports a Metal overall unibody which is more modern and classy. Talk about being modern, there are super tiny bezels around the screen.

Well, since we are talking about the 14-inch FHD+ display here, it’s worthy to note that it has a resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels. Internally, there’s 8GB of RAM and 256GB of SSD storage. By the side, there’s a USB Type-C port for charging, you can also use it charge other devices which is very convenient. It comes loaded with Dolby Quad speakers and split frequency setup, this offers impressive sound and Audio quality.

The Huawei MateBook D 14-inch weighs just 145g, this means it’s lighter than most smartphones we see these days. Additionally, it measures about 15.8mm in thickness and I powered by a 57.4Wh battery capacity, this lasts for up to 12 hours when fully charged, according to Huawei. It’s bigger brother, the Huawei MateBook D 2018 that was launched earlier this year came with a massive 15.6-inch Full HD display and powered by Intel‘s 8th Generation processor, Nvidia MX150 GPU, and 8GB of RAM.

The cheaper variant has Core i5 processor and offers two storage options, one with 256GB SSD storage while another with 128GB SSD + 1TB HDD. The higher-end model is powered by Intel Core i7-8550U CPU, has the same 8GB RAM but with 128GB SSD + 1TB HDD storage combo. The 2018 version has a starting price of approximately $791. The cheaper Huawei MateBook D 14-inch price is still blurry at the moment, but we know it will be available first in the international market before being available in China.
