Vivo V9 Youth Full Specs Review

Vivo V9 Youth was introduced in India as the cheaper variant of the V9 we reviewed earlier. The V9 Youth as the name suggests focuses on the Youth and those on a budget. Instead of the 24MP selfie shooter on the V9 it sports a 16MP selfie shooter.

The storage space was reduced as well, you get only 32GB storage space here on the V9 Youth. Internally, it houses a downgraded chipset as well. The Snapdragon 450 is in charge here, let’s find out more.

Vivo V9 Youth Design and Display

The Vivo V9 Youth looks quite identical to the Vivo V9 we saw earlier, there’s no major differences in terms of design. It was made from aluminium alloy and has a rear fingerprint scanner as well.

The dual cameras at the top left corner are still in a trendy position with the LED flash sitting underneath. It measures 7.9 mm in thickness and weighs the same 150g, just like the V9. It’s also available in Champagne Gold and Pearl Black.

Just like the V9, this cheaper variant comes with a notched screen as well. Those on a budget can also experience the same screen qualities here, Vivo didn’t bother changing any detail on the screen for the youth.

You get the same 6.3-inch FHD+ IPS LCD capacitive touchscreen which boasts of 2280 x 1080 pixels in resolution and 400 pixels per inch density. The screen stretches up to 85.2% screen-to-body ratio as well.

Hardware and Software

Vivo adopted the Snapdragon 450 chip from Qualcomm for the V9 Youth which is a downgrade from the 626. Nonetheless, it was built on the same 14nm process technology and has an octa-core processor which clocks at a slower 1.8GHz. The Adreno 506 graphics card controls graphics.

The V9 Youth still has the same 4GB of RAM for multitasking and reaches 933MHz in memory speed as well. Although, the storage space has been reduced a bit to 32GB you can expand up to 256GB with a memory card. The device runs on Android 8.1 Oreo with Funtouch OS 4.0 skin on top.

Camera Network Connectivity

The V9 Youth is equipped with dual rear 16MP + 2MP shooters, yes, the second camera that captures the depth-of-field has been reduced by 2MP. Both cameras are supported by an AI Bokeh algorithm. While the AI-powered 16MP selfie camera handles graphics.

The V9 Youth boasts of 4G LTE connectivity and accommodates dual Nano SIM. It also has support for Bluetooth 4.2, 3.5mm jack, USB port, Wi-Fi, Wi-Fi Hotspot and A-GPS, GLONASS, BDS.

The Vivo V9 Youth is powered by a non-removable Li-Ion 3260mAh battery with fast charging technology. Vivo V9 Youth is available on shopping stores, starting from $299 to $349, that’s about (N100,000 – N120,000).
