Nokia 5.1 Plus is the upgraded variant of the Nokia 5.1 and one of the latest Nokia smartphones with a notch display. The device is known in China as the Nokia X5, but will be 5.1 Plus globally.

Design And Display

HMD Global is known for always adopting Aluminum alloy for its Android smartphones. The 5.1 Plus was sculpted from Aluminum as well and reflects light in the most subtle way.

At the top middle, we can see the dual rear cameras starting a vertical train with the LED flash underneath, while the fingerprint scanner follows in that order. It weighs 160g and will be available in Night black, Glacier white and Baltic sea blue.

The notched display is here to stay, although we’ve already seen different types of it. The notch on the 5.1 Plus looks pretty old and bulky, there’s another Nokia logo on the bottom chin.

HMD Global sure loves the new chipsets from MediaTek, the 5.1 Plus is powered by the Helio P60 which is built on a 12nm FinFET process technology. It comes with 8-cores of processor clocking at 2.0GHz, while the ARM Mali-G72 MP3 controls graphics.

Nokia topped it up a notch in terms of RAM and storage space. There’s one with 3GB RAM and 32GB storage space. While the expensive variant has 4GB RAM and 64GB storage. Both storage options are upgradeable up to 256GB, while the device runs on Android 8.1 Oreo.

Camera, Network And Connectivity

At the rear, it’s equipped with dual 13MP + 5MP rear shooter with f/2.0 aperture, while the 5MP depth sensor helps in background blur. While the 8MP selfie camera has f/2.2 aperture and supports Face Unlock.

The Nokia 5.1 Plus supports 4G LTE connectivity and accommodates dual Nano SIMs. It has support for Bluetooth 4.2, 3.5mm jack, USB TypeC, Wi-Fi, Wi-Fi Hotspot and A-GPS, GLONASS.
