Sony went for an older 16:9 aspect ratio screen. The top and bottom bezels are very thick for a flagship smartphone released in 2018. However, you might not really notice that because of the sharpness of the screen.

It sports a 5.8-inch QHD+ IPS LCD capacitive touchscreen. This has a resolution of 3840 x 2160 pixels and an impressive 765 pixels per inch density for clear and sharp visuals. The screen also supports HDR10 compliant, Triluminos display and X-Reality Engine.

Hardware and Software

Of course, Sony adopted the Snapdragon 845 chip from Qualcomm to do the number crunching underneath. It comes with an octa-core processor clocking at 2.7GHz, while the Adreno 630 controls graphics.

It comes in a single variant in terms of RAM and storage space. There’s 6GB of RAM available for multitasking, while the storage space was pegged at 64GB. Nonetheless, you can upgrade up to 512GB using a memory card. It runs on Android 8.1 Oreo as well.

Camera And Connectivity

At the rear, it’s equipped with dual 19MP + 12MP rear shooter with f/1.8 and f/1.6 aperture respectively. The cameras come with predictive PDAF & laser AF with large pixels. It shoots 4K videos @30fps as well, while the 13MP selfie camera has f/2.0 aperture and supports Face Unlock.

The XZ2 Premium supports 4G LTE connectivity and accommodates dual Nano SIMs, there’s another version that supports just a single SIM. It has support for Bluetooth 5.0, 3.5mm jack, USB TypeC, Wi-Fi, Wi-Fi Hotspot and A-GPS, GLONASS.

Battery And Availability

The Sony Xperia XZ2 Premium is powered by a non-removable Li-Ion 3540mAh battery with fast charging technology. Sony Xperia XZ2 Premium will be available on shopping stores, starting from $899 to $999, that’s about (N300,000 – N350,000).
