Motorola P30 Play has been teased and slightly announced by Motorola in China with all its specs and features unveiled. The P30 Play is the downgraded variant of the P30 and P30 Note targeting those on a budget.

It’s powered by the Snapdragon 625 chipset with an octa-core processor clocking up to 2.0GHz. There’s a standard 4GB RAM and 64GB storage space as well. Lets find out more.

Design And Display

There is a combination of metal and glass at the rear, it looks exactly like the P30 Note also known as Motorola One. Furthermore, the dual rear camera is still at the top left corner.

At the middle, we can see the fingerprint scanner in its usual doubling with the Motorola logo for quick access. It measures 7.7mm in thickness and weighs 170g overall.

Turning over to the front, you’ll be greeted by the notch, the notch is obviously still thick just like what we saw on the P30. The notch houses the selfie camera, LED flash and speaker grille. It sports a 5.88-inch HD+ IPS LCD capacitive touchscreen with a resolution of 720 x 1520 pixels and 402 pixels per inch density for sharp visuals. The screen also stretches up to 82% screen-to-body ratio.

Hardware and Software

Motorola adopted the Snapdragon 625 chip from Qualcomm to do the job here. The chip was built on a 14nm FinFET process node and comes with an 8-core processor having a clocking speed of 2.0GHz. Controlling graphics is the Adreno 506 GPU.

As expected, it comes in a single variant with 4GB RAM for all your multitasking. While in the storage department, there’s a 64GB internal storage space as well available to store all files. The phone runs on Android 8.1 Oreo as well.

Camera And Connectivity

The phone carries a 13MP + 2MP dual cameras with f/2.0 + f/2.4 aperture respectively. The cameras boast lots of trendy internal features, like smart beauty, night scene, background blur (portrait mode) with LED flash. While the 8MP selfie shooter handles selfies.

The P30 Play supports 4G LTE connectivity and accommodates dual Nano SIMs and a microSD card. It also has support for Bluetooth 4.2, USB Type C, Wi-Fi, Wi-Fi Hotspot and A-GPS, GLONASS.

Battery, Price And Availability

The Motorola P30 Play is powered by a non-removable 3000mAh battery with fast charging technology. Motorola P30 Play will be available on shopping stores, starting from $299 to $349, that’s about (N100,000 – N120,000).
