Elephone PX arrives with a massive 6.34-inch display and a mechanical dual pop-up selfie camera
It’s the time of sliders and pops up cameras and this time it on the Elephone PX, a Smartphone the company has dubbed the most affordable full-screen smartphone. The Elephone PX packs a big screen, four cameras, two of which are hidden in the slider/pop-up mechanism and a decent battery capacity. Design And Display
The Elephone PX comes with a huge 6.34-inch HD+ IPS LCD display with no notch in sight and a little bit of chin. Screen resolution stands at 720 x 1500 pixels with a 267 pixel per inch density and a 19:9 aspect ratio.
A screen to body ratio of more than 80% was able to be achieved, thanks to the mechanical pop-up compartment which houses the dual front-facing camera which comes up as soon as you launch the camera.
The body of the device is made up of aluminium alloy + Metal and comes in colours Black and Green. At the back of the device is a fingerprint sensor located at the centre and a heart rate sensor located just beneath the dual rear cameras at the top left side.
Hardware and Software
MediaTek Helio P22 Chipset with Octa-core processors takes charge inside the device with a clock speed of up to 2.0GHz alongside the PowerVR GE8320 GPU. The device comes in two configurations of 3GB RAM paired with 32GB of internal storage and another with 4GB of RAM paired with 64GB of internal storage. The device runs on Android 8.1 Oreo out of the box.
Camera, Battery & Connectivity
At the back of the Elephone PX smartphone is a dual camera setup of 16MP + 2MP with f/2.2 aperture and LED flash. Turning over to the front of the device is yet another dual camera setup of 13MP + 2MP, this time located in the slider which comes up when needed and goes back down when not in use. The selfie cameras also have a f/2.2 aperture.
Powering the device is a 3500mAh battery which Elephone says will be able to last up to 48hours. Other features of this device include 4G LTE connectivity, 3.5mm jack and USB On The Go.
Elephone PX Price And Availability
The price for the base version of 3GB/32GB starts at $180 and goes as high as $230 for the bigger 4GB/64GB configuration. The phone hasn’t gone on sale as at the time of writing this article but will go on sale soon.
