Huawei Nova 4 Debuts with 48MP Rear camera & 25MP Selfie Snapper
Huawei nova 4 just arrived as Huawei’s first smartphone with a screen hole and second in the world after Samsung’s A8s. Asides from the Screen hole that houses the front facing camera there is also a Triple Camera setup at the back, 8GB of RAM, Kirin 970, The latest Android 9.0 Pie and a 3,750mAh battery with an 18W fast charging.

Huawei nova 4 Design And Display
Huawei nova 4 sports a massive 6.4-inch display with 1080p resolution (398ppi), 19:9 aspect ratio and the most talked about feature of this smartphone – the hole on the top left corner of the smartphone that houses the selfie camera.
There are literally no bezels on top with a little bit of chin down below, achieving an impressive 86% screen to body ratio. The design looks similar to the Huawei P20 Pro thanks to the Triple camera setup up with the LED flash underneath and the fingerprint sensor sitting at its usual spot. The device measures 7.8mm in thickness, weighs 172 grams and comes in three colours which are Aurora Blue, Red, White and Black.

Huawei nova 4 has a total of 4 cameras with three out of that four placed at the back. Now, the camera differs in different variants. The first Variant has a 48MP main camera with f/1.8 aperture and PDAF while the the second Variant has a 20MP main camera with f/1.8 aperture and PDAF also.
Both Variants are supported by a secondary 16MP camera with f/2.2 aperture and a 2MP depth sensor camera with f/2.4. The rear camera is equipped with an LED flash, HDR and Panorama. It is also capable of recording 4k and 1080p videos at 30fps. For selfies, there is a 25MP camera with f/2.0 sitting comfortably in the camera hole equipped with HDR and 1080p video recording at 30fps.
Huawei nova 4 Hardware and Software
Huawei went with their in-house Kirin 970 SoC here which is an octa-core processor based on the 10nm FinFET process technology and is clocked at 2.4GHz. It is paired with a Mali-G72 MP12 GPU for gaming. Huawei nova 4 has a whopping 8GB of RAM and 128GB of internal storage which can be expanded further, up to 512GB. This device runs on Huawei’s latest and up-to-date EMUI 9.0.1 out of the box which is based on the lasted iteration of Android – Android 9.0 Pie.
Battery & Network Connectivity
The device is powered by a 3,750mAh battery capacity equipped with an 18W fast charging. It also has 4G LTE connectivity, WiFi, Bluetooth with A2DP, EDR, LE and aptX HD. The device has GPS with A-GPS, GLONASS and BDS. A USB Type-C is also on board. Unfortunately, this device doesn’t have NFC and Radio.
Price And Availability
This device will launch in China first, where it will sell for CNY 3,400 (€435/£500/$550) for the one with a 48MP main camera at the back. The one with a 20MP main camera will go for CNY 3,100 (€400/£450/$510).
