Oukitel Announced the Oukitel U25 alongside the Oukitel U25 Pro with the claim that the former will be the most cost-effective 4GB/64GB smartphone. Asides from being cheap, the device also packs some nice specifications for its price, so let’s dive right in to the specifications and features of this device and find out if that is true.

Oukitel U25 Design And Display

Oukitel U25 is a pretty standard device in terms of design and display. At the front is a 5.5-inch FHD+ 1080p display with an 18:9 aspect ratio leaving enough room in the top bezel for the single front-facing camera.

There is also a significant amount of chin down below. Turning over to the back is the dual camera and dual LED flash with the fingerprint sensor in the usual spot. The only colour option available for now is a purple to black Gradient colour which makes the device have a premium look.

Oukitel U25 Camera Review

On this device, we have two cameras at the back which consists of a 16MP main shooter and a 2MP secondary shooter with f/2.2 aperture, dual-LED flash and autofocus. For selfies, it has a single 8MP camera with f/2.0 aperture sitting comfortably at the top bezel.

Oukitel U25 Hardware and Software

Mediatek’s MT6739 SoC takes charge here with a 4 core processor clocked at 1.5GHz paired with a Mali GPU for gaming. There is also one storage option here which is the one with 4GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage which is expandable via the MicroSD card slot up to 128GB. As for the operating system, it runs the not so latest Android 8.1 Oreo out of the box with Oukitel’s Skin on top.

Battery & Network Connectivity

Powering the Oukitel U25 is a 3,500mAh battery which is more than enough for a days use. The battery is also equipped with MediaTek’s proprietary fast charging technology; Mediatek Pump Express – a 10W fast charging for quick refills. Oukitel U25 also has 4G LTE connectivity, Bluetooth, WiFi, Facial recognition aka Face ID, a fingerprint sensor and a microUSB port with support for USB On The Go.

Price And Availability

The device hasn’t gone on sale yet but the price it is set to retail for starts at just $99.99 which, if true, is pretty impressive given it’s features. We’ll just have to wait and see.
