Motorola Moto G7 is the next in line addition to the Moto line up succeeding the Moto G6 which was released earlier last year. This year’s Moto G7 will pack some improvements over last year’s Moto G6 which includes a better SoC and a bigger display among other things. Let’s dissect the specifications and find out what else is new in the Moto G7.

The Moto G7 has a 6.24-inch IPS LCD panel with Full HD+ 1080p display (403ppi) which is protected by a Corning Gorilla Glass. Aspect ratio stands tall at 19:9 with a V-shaped notch up top to house the front-facing camera. There is also a small amount of chin down below with the Motorola name written on it. At the back of the device is a dual camera setup placed side by side with dual-LED underneath in the same format all in a black circle. Underneath the circle of cameras and LEDs is the Motorola Logo on top of the fingerprint sensor. The back is also covered with glass and aluminium frame all around. This device weighs 174 grams, measures 7.9mm in thickness and is also splash resistant. Colour options available are Black and Red.

Motorola Moto G7 Camera Review

The dual camera setup at the back of this device consists of a 12MP main shooter with f/1.8 aperture and Phase detection autofocus (PDAF) accompanied by a secondary 5MP depth sensor camera with f/2.2 aperture. Features of the rear camera include dual-LED flash, HDR and Panorama. Video recording at 2160p and 1080p is capped at 30fps. For selfies, there is a single 8MP camera with f/2.2 aperture tucked in the notch which is capable of 1080p video recording at 30fps.

At the heart at of this device is Snapdragon 632 SoC which is a 14nm chip with an 8-core processor clocked at 1.8GHz paired with an Adreno 506 GPU for graphics and games. This device only comes in one configuration which has 4GB of RAM and 64GB of Internal storage. Storage space can be expanded via a microSD card of up to 256GB. It also runs the latest Android operating system out of the box – Android 9.0 Pie – with Motorola’s UI/Skin of course.

Battery & Network Connectivity

This device is packing a 3,000mAh battery with fast battery charging for quick refills. It also has 4G LTE, Bluetooth 5.0, WiFi, WiFi hotspot, WiFi direct, GPS, 3.5mm jack, FM radio and a USB Type-C port. The Europe Version will also be equipped with NFC.
