Alcatel 3 2019 is the successor to last year’s Alcatel 3 smartphone which was just announced at the ongoing MWC event. The new Alcatel 3 2019 brings forth some major improvements over its predecessor with a new Snapdragon 439 SoC, 3GB or 4GB of RAM with 32GB or 64GB respectively. It has a dual camera setup, a 3,500mAh battery capacity and runs Android 8.1 Oreo out of the box with a promised Android 9.0 Pie in the future.

Alcatel 3 2019 Design And Display
The display on the Alcatel 3 2019 smartphone is a notched 5.94-inch IPS LCD display with a 720 x 1560 pixel screen resolution and an Asahi Dragontail Glass on top for screening protection. Aspect ratio stands at 19:9 with Alcatel calling it the “Super Full View”. The notch cutout is housing the front-facing camera as usual with a chin at the bottom. The back of the device which is made of plastic and comes in two colours – Blue-purple gradient and Black-blue gradient – is occupied by the dual camera setup, LED flash and the fingerprint sensor, all lined up vertically at the top centre. It weighs just 145 grams and measures 8mm in thickness. There is a Hybrid Dual SIM card slot available for two SIM cards or One SIM and one MicroSD card.
Alcatel 3 2019 Camera Review
Alcatel’s rear camera setup here comprises of a main 13MP sensor with an f/2.0 aperture alongside a secondary 5MP depth sensor camera for portrait mode shots. The rear camera features an LED flash, HDR, Panorama and 1080p video recording capability at 30fps. An 8MP camera located in the notch up front takes care of selfie with an f/2.0 aperture, HDR and can even shot 720p videos at 30fps.

Snapdragon 439 SoC sits comfortably inside this device with an Octa-core Processor clocking speeds of up to 2.0GHz which is paired with an Adreno 505 GPU. You get either 3GB or 4GB of RAM which is paired with 32GB or 64GB respectively. Storage is very much expandable up to 128GB via a microSD card. However, you’ll have to use the second SIM slot which doubles as a microSD card slot. Unfortunately, this device runs Android 8.1 Oreo out of the box with Android 9.0 Pie promised to arrive very soon.
Battery & Network Connectivity
The 3,500mAh battery on this Alcatel 3 2019 doesn’t come with fast charging capabilities. However, other features such as 4G LTE, WiFi, WiFi hotspot, WiFi direct, Bluetooth, GPS, FM radio, 3.5mm jack and a microUSB port are all present. Also, there is NFC, depending on the market.

The 3GB/32GB configuration of the Alcatel 3 2019 will cost €159/$180 while the bigger 4GB/64GB is priced at €189/$215. The expected release date of this is within the first quarter of 2019 which basically means sometime in March.
