There have been speculations about the release of OnePlus 5G smartphone. The company have been teasing about the device for some time now. Although the company recently announced that they will be unveiling the 5G smartphone at the MWC event scheduled to hold this month in Barcelona.

According to an invitation that the company sent to invitees, the company stated that they are inviting everyone to “interact over a 5G network at its stand within Qualcomm’s booth at MWC. Speaking further, the company said that its attendees will have a first-class experience of the capabilities of 5G gaming”. This will happen through one of their latest OnePlus 5G prototypes. This revelation shows that we have a lot to expect from the final product.

For now, the company have not disclosed the specifications of the premium device online. But, looking at OnePlus close partnership with Qualcomm shows that the device might likely be powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 along with snapdragon X50 modem which will give access to 5G capabilities.

Even though OnePlus have not revealed the design of the device, a previous rumour had suggested that a bezel-less device complete with a slider mechanism might be on the way.

If rumours are correct, the OnePlus 5G flagship will likely be unveiled in May together with the OnePlus 7. We don’t expect the price of the later to be higher than the current OnePlus 6T. But as for the 5G model, it might cost you a fortune to get.
