Oneplus 7 Series to be Unveiled Today – What you need to know

OnePlus has an event scheduled for today, May 14 in New York, the United States where they will be unveiling two new OnePlus devices and some other gadgets so here is everything we know about the upcoming event.

The star of the event will be the OnePlus 7 Pro which will be accompanied by the OnePlus 7. Yes, it is pretty confirmed that OnePlus is going with the two smartphones strategy for 2019 – a less expensive regular one and the specced-out Pro version.

As for the regular OnePlus 7, it will follow in the footsteps of the OnePlus 6T with a smaller 6.2-inch AMOLED display and a waterdrop notch for the front-facing camera. The display will have a 1080p resolution and a standard 60Hz refresh rate. OnePlus 7 has only two cameras on the back, with the main one being a 48MP sensor and the second being a telephoto sensor, with of course an LED flash. Inside the phone will be no other than the new Snapdragon 855 SoC with 6GB of RAM and 128GB of storage. This might be the only configuration it comes leaving the other configurations for a pro variant.

OnePlus 7 Pro will also have a Snapdragon 855 running the show on the inside with up to 12GB of RAM and 256GB of internal storage. It will also have a slightly bigger 6.64-inch AMOLED display with a QHD+ resolution and a 90Hz refresh rate. The display will also support HDR10+ content and has already gotten some really impressive scores from early users of the device. There will also be no notch and it will instead use a motorised pop up to house the front facing camera. OnePlus 7 Pro will also have a third camera at the back with its main sensor also being a 48MP one.

Both devices will runs Android 9.0 Pie with OxygenOS 9 slapped on top so no surprises there. OnePlus 7 will be powered by a 4,150mAh battery capacity while OnePlus 7 Pro gets slightly less juice at 4,00mAh, both of which will support OnePlus’s 30W Warp charge through the USB Type-C port. Both devices will also have their fingerprint sensor buried Underneath the display like most flagships. As for colour options, renders have suggested three for OnePlus 7 Pro – Nebula Blue, Mirror Gray and Almond – and just Black for the OnePlus 7.

There will also be a OnePlus 7 Pro 5G which is basically the OnePlus 7 Pro with 5G connectivity. Prices for the upcoming OnePlus 7 and 7 Pro according to leaks are said to start at €700 and can go as High as €820 depending on the configuration. We’ll have to wait for the official launch to clears things up. Some new accessories are also going to get unveiled at the event like the new bullet wireless 2 headphones, Warp compatible charger for cars and cases.
