Vivo IQOO Neo recently launched as the smaller and a cheaper of the gaming smartphone, iQOO. When the BBK Electronics-owned brand released the iQOO in March, it was unveiled with the slogan, Monster Inside, and featured the 44W fast-charging option, along with the new flagship chipset and a lot of software acceleration modes backing it up. It’d be interesting to see how the Vivo iQOO model fares in comparison with the new younger phone.

One of the notable capabilities of the latter device is the Snapdragon 845 chipset. The phone screen is 6.38-inch OLED panel with FHD+ resolution, and vivo implemented a fingerprint scanner underneath this display. The chipset works with 6/8GB of RAM and 64GB/128 GB of ROM.

To ensure there is zero lag when making use of in-game joysticks, the maker has included touch acceleration for the digitizer.

The triple rear cam has a 12-megapixel primary shooter, an 8-megapixel wide-angle unit as well as a 2-megapixel depth sensor, and the front selfie shooter also features 12 megapixels.

As the new release is more of a mobile gaming rig, it equally comes with a dedicated cooling system, consisting of 2 multi-layer graphite slates that sandwich a vapor chamber & an aluminum piece. The phone manufacturer claims it can reach 30 Celsius lower temperatures than other smartphones also powered by the Snapdragon 845 chip.

The present trend among gaming enthusiasts in China heavily impact performance boosters; thus the iQOO Neo is featuring AI Turbo, Center Turbo, Cooling Turbo, Net Turbo, coupled with other capabilities, all of which are merged under the term Multi-Turbo.

It also offers the Funtouch OS 9, which is based on Android Pie. Its 4,500-mAh non-removable battery, supporting the 22.5W vivo FlashCharge, can top 50 per cent of the power cell within half an hour.

The new Vivo iQOO Neo’s price starts at $260/€230 (CNY1,798) for the 6GB/64GB model and CNY2,298 ($335/€295) for the 8GB/128GB version. It will be sold in Purple or Black, and you can place your pre-orders on Vivo’s own online store as well as key Chinese retailers. The first flash sale is slated for Monday, July 8.
