Popular Chinese smartphone maker, Xiaomi has officially released the Mi A3. The Mi A-series is dedicated to Google’s Android One initiative running on pure stock Android.

If you have seen the Xiaomi Mi CC9e, then Mi A3 is nothing to get excited about. The device is simply a replica of the Mi CC9e without the MIUI custom skin as it runs on a pure version of Android 9.0 Pie.

The new smartphone is still a good upgrade for those using the Xiaomi Mi A2 that was released last year. It comes with a 6.01 Super AMOLED display with a waterdrop notch. The display resolution did not get better though. The Mi A2 features 1080 x 2160 pixels with 403 PPI density. While the new Mi A3 comes with a 720 x 1560 with 286 PPI density. Guess, the Super AMOLED technology will make up for the lost resolution.

Underneath the device is the Snapdragon 665 SoC, which is slightly better than the SD660 on the Mi A2. The GPU got much better though, the Mi A3 features Adreno 610 graphics processing unit. While the Mi A2 features Adreno 512 GPU. Unlike the Mi A2 that is without a microSD slot, the Mi A3 features a Hybrid SIM slot and allows up to 256 GB of additional storage.

The camera specs of the Mi A3 is quite impressive. It sports a triple rear camera consisting of a 48MP wide sensor, an 8MP ultrawide sensor and a 2MP depth sensor. At the waterdrop notch is a 32MP selfie camera. Battery capacity has been upgraded to 4030 mAh from the 3000 mAh seen on the Mi A2.

The Xiaomi Mi A3 is available in Gray, White and Blue. It was officially launched in Spain with a starting price of €250/$281 and expected to reach other countries soon.
