OnePlus TV goes official with 4K OLED display powered by Android
OnePlus held a launch event in India yesterday, during which they announced the new OnePlus 7T. Also, the company finally made its grand entry into the TV market with the introduction of OnePlus TV.
The OnePlus TV was tagged “Imagination and Intelligence” during the launch event. The TV features a 55-inch 4K OLED panel with a 95.7% screen-to-body ratio and 120% NTSC colour gamut. It does support HDR10+ and Dolby Vision.
Dolby is a key aspect of this TV both in display and sound. There is a total of eight speakers featured on the OnePlus TV and they all support Dolby Atmos. The OnePlus TV outputs 50W of sound, which leads to a more promising and powerful sound. During the event, a representative of Dolby was present and explained the integration of Dolby into the OnePlus TV.
The design of the OnePlus TV looks premium in the eyes. Its remote control is rechargeable via USB-C and has a striking resemblance with Apple TV remote.
The OnePlus TV is powered by Android and the company promises three years worth of Android updates. The TV user interface is in line with a normal Android TV featuring complete Google cast functionality. Most of the TV’s functions can be controlled by the Google Assistant on your phone or on the TV remote. You can connect your phone and the TV through “OnePlus Connect”, and can turn on the TV via Amazon Alexa on your phone.
The OnePlus TV is available in two models; TV Q1 and TV Q1 Pro. Both models will go on sale on Amazon India starting September 28th. The TV Q1 model will cost $987. While the Pro model costs $1,411.
