Xiaomi Mi Mix Alpha launched with huge 108MP camera, costs $2,815
Xiaomi has unveiled the newest member of the Mix family – Mi Mix Alpha. The device was introduced during a launch event along with the Mi 9 Pro.
The Xiaomi Mi Mix Alpha comes with great concept arguably not seen before in a smartphone. It features a 4D curved display with a whopping 180% screen-to-body ratio. The side buttons are seen inside the display and its pressure-sensitive.
The body build of the Mi Mix Alpha consists of aerospace-grade titanium alloy frame, a ceramic back strip and full sapphire glass cover. Xiaomi believes this will protect the display of the device. It still doesn’t rule out how fragile this smartphone is.
The device features a triple rear camera module with the highlight being the 108MP main sensor, which is accompanied by a 20MP (ultrawide) and 12MP (telephoto) sensors. This is the first smartphone to feature this 108MP camera with ultra-high resolution, 1/1.33-inch ultra large image sensor and 12032 x 9024 pixels.
Powering the Xiaomi Mi Mix Alpha is Snapdragon 855+ SoC with 12GB RAM and 512GB. It does support 5G connectivity. There is a 4,050 mAh nano silicone cathode battery which supports 40W fast charging.
The Xiaomi Mi Mix Alpha will cost CNY19,999/$2,815/€2,559. This is totally ridiculous comes from a brand like Xiaomi which is well known for manufacturing value-based devices. Not even the Samsung Galaxy Fold or Huawei Mate X is this expensive.
