Sharp S7 Specifications and Price

Sharp S7 is a brand new device from Sharp which seems to be taking a different approach with this particular smartphone. The Sharp S7 is somewhat a rebranded Sharp Aquos Sense 3 Lite with some little changes here and there.

Sharp S7 has a 5.5-inch display with an 18:9 aspect ratio leaving enough room at the top for the single Front-facing camera. There is also a single rear-facing camera. It has a Snapdragon 630 chipset, 3GB of RAM and 128GB of internal storage.

One of the selling points of this device is perhaps the fact that it runs the latest Android 10 out of the box. There is also a 4,000mAh battery inside keeping the lights one.

Sharp S7 Design And Display

Sharp S7 has a pretty old design for a smartphone announced in 2019. The back is made of metal with a subtle albeit visible antenna lines. Still on the rear of the smartphone, there is a single-camera setup and an LED flash. Unfortunately, there is no fingerprint sensor on this device – just in case you were thinking it is underneath the display.

At the front is the display, which like the rear of the device is pretty old by today’s standards. It has a 5.5-inch IGZO LCD display. The panel is an FHD+ panel and uses an 18:9 aspect ratio, leaving enough room up top for the single front-facing camera.

Sharp S7 weighs 167grams and measures 8.9mm in thickness thanks to that hefty battery it is carrying. It also has a dual SIM card slot as you would expect from an android device in this price range. It comes in just one colour for now which is Gold.

Sharp S7 Camera Review

The camera setup on the Sharp S7 is basic. At the rear is the single 12MP shooter accompanied by an LED flash for low light shots. Selfies are handled by the single front-facing 8MP shooter in the top bezels above the display.

The camera here features AI capabilities which will help with image processing, scene detection and more.

Hardware and Software

Sharp S7 is rocking a rather old chipset – a Qualcomm Snapdragon 630 SoC. This chipset has an octa-core processor clocked at 2.2GHz paired with an Adreno 508 GPU for gaming. It has 3GB of RAM for apps and 128GB of internal storage for files. No mention yet of a MicroSD slot or the lack of it.

Sharp S7 runs Android 10 out of the box and is part of the Android One family. This means it comes with stock Android – with no User interface slapped on top. Also, it will get at least two major Android updates – Android 11 and 12 – with three years of security updates, keeping in line with the android one program.

Battery and Connectivity

Sharp S7 has a 4,000mAh battery and while there are no official numbers on how long it will last, the company vaguely states that it can last a week on standby if put into energy-saving mode. It has 4G LTE, Bluetooth, WiFi, WiFi hotspot, GPS, a 3.5mm jack and of course, a microUSB port for charging as well as transferring files.
