Amazfit GTR 2 and GTS 2 Come with Blood Oxygen monitoring and bigger batteries


Chinese brand Huami is back with the second generation of their duo smartwatches. The company debuted the Amazfit GTR and Amazfit GTS in July and August of last year respectively. With a year down the line, they’ve announced its successors – Amazfit GTR 2 and Amazfit GTS 2.

The smartwatch is built around a 1.39″ colour AMOLED display that’s covered with 3D glass. The display features a 454 x 454 pixels resolution and supports custom dial background. There is also an option that allows you to put your favourite picture from the gallery in the background.

The Amazfit GTR 2 features SomnusCare for monitoring sleep. The feature categorizes the sleep into three phases – light sleep, deep sleep and REM. Another interesting feature of this smartwatch is the BioTracker PPG heart rate sensor which monitors heart rate for 24/7. There is also OxygenBeats which measures your blood oxygen level by using the SpO2.

The GTR 2 has a water-resistant of up to 50 meters and packs a battery capacity of 471 mAh. The smartwatch comes in two variants – Classic and Sport.

The Classic is made of stainless steel and is priced at CNY1,099/$160/€140 while the Sport variant is made of an aluminium body and costs CNY999/$150/€125. They both will be sold through in China.

This smartwatch shares most of its features and specs with the GTR 2 – sleep tracking, heart rate sensor, 50 meters water resistance, measuring blood oxygen level and lots more.

However, the GTS 2 sports a bigger AMOLED display at 1.65″ with 348 x 442 pixels resolution and 3D glass for protection. Battery capacity is also bigger at 246 mAh. The GTS 2 only has one variant in terms of body build and it’s made of aluminium alloy.
