Vivo X5 is a mid-range smartphone from BLU which packs quite a punch for its price. It starts at $99 and for that, you get this smartphone with a 5.7-inch display, a UNISOC SC9863A Chipset, 3GB of RAM and 64GB of expandable storage.
It also has a single camera setup both at the front and at the back with a 2,800mAh battery powering it up. Being an android device, it runs Android 9.0 Pie out of the box and just in case you thought Vivo – the smartphone company – made this, they didn’t. It is actually from another smartphone maker called BLU.
Now that even clear that up, let’s see what else the Vivo X5 brings to the table.

- UNISOC SC9863A, Octa-core 1.6GHz

BLU Vivo X5 Design And Display
Design-wise, there is nothing spectacular about the BLU Vivo X5. It has a plastic design with the camera at the top left accompanied by an LED flash and a fingerprint sensor at the centre. The 5.7-inch display over at the front is an IPS LCD panel which uses an 18:9 aspect ratio and has an HD+ resolution with a 282ppi.
Thanks to the 18:9 aspect ratio here, this device has quite a thick bezel both at the top and bottom. The top bezel houses the front-facing camera, an LED flash, Speaker grill and other sensors.
Overall, the BLU Vivo X5 weighs 160grams and measures 9.1mm in thickness. Unfortunately, this device only comes in the colour black, so there isn’t much choice in terms of colours.
BLU Vivo X5 Camera Review
BLU Vivo X5 has just two cameras distributed evenly – one on each side. The one at the back is a 13MP camera with Autofocus and an LED flash. The single front-facing 8MP camera for selfies also has an LED flash.
Both the front-facing camera and the rear-facing camera can shoot 1080p videos at 30fps. It also comes with some features to take your photography game to the next level.
Hardware and Software
BLU Vivo X5 is rocking a UNISOC SC9863 Chipset. This chipset has an octa-core processor clocking speeds of up to 1.6GHz alongside an IMG8322 GPU for gaming.
It has 3GB of RAM to handle multitasking through apps and 64GB of internal storage for storing files. You can add more storage too as this device can accommodate an additional 64GB via a MicroSD card.
This device runs Android 9.0 Pie out of the box with BLU’s UI baked on top of that. It is also a dual SIM smartphone so you can use two of your SIM cards at once.
Battery and Connectivity
The battery capacity here stands at 2,800mAh with no fast charging which is not that good. However, giving a small capacity, charging shouldn’t take that long. Thankfully, it does have 4G LTE connectivity.
It also has WiFi, WiFi hotspot, WiFi Direct, Bluetooth, GPS, FM radio, 3.5mm jack and of course, a micro-USB port for charging the battery as well as transferring files.
