Huawei 10.4-inch MatePad arrives with M-Pencil support

During an online launch event where it unveiled the Nova 7 series, Huawei also launched a new MatePad with a 10.4-inch display. It is a specs-toned down version of the MatePad Pro which arrived last November in China.

The 10.4-inch display features 2,000 x 1,200 pixel resolution. The tablet is powered by Kirin 810 chipset and packs a 7,250 mAh battery capacity. It does support 18W fast charging which will take a considerate amount of time to fill up such huge battery capacity.

There is an 8MP main camera with auto-focus at the back and another 8MP camera with fixed focus at the front for selfie duties. The phone weighs a huge 450 grams and measures 7.35mm thickness.

The tablet is viewed as a key tool for educational purposes with measures put in place to ensure kids focus on schoolwork and not become addicted. The tablet runs on EMUI 10.1 user interface and supports Huawei’s M-Pencil stylus accessory.

The Huawei MatePad will be available in three configuration; 4GB + 64GB Wi-Fi (CNY1,899/$270), 6GB + 128GB Wi-Fi (CNY
2,199/$310) and 6GB + 128GB (CNY2,499/$350).
