Are you comfortable with the fact that iPhone X has no Fingerprint scanner ( TouchID)?

The iPhone X becomes the first flagship smartphone this year with no fingerprint scanner (Touch ID). This might be a new trend as Apple have obviously switched to face scanner (Face ID). We all know Apple are trendsetters in terms of innovating features on smartphones.

The fingerprint scanner was an omnipresent feature on recent high-end (and even mid-range) smartphones throughout the year, well before iPhone X happened. So don’t be surprised if other companies follow suit.

With the Face ID on the flagship device, Apple decided that its iPhone X will be just fine without a fingerprint scanner (Touch ID). Thus, there’s no fingerprint sensor feature anywhere on the device.

Previous rumours had it that Apple could try to embed the fingerprint scanner into the 5.8-inch screen of the iPhone X since there’s no physical home button on the device. Well, that didn’t happen.

The only authentication feature on the smartphone is the Face ID. The feature works with the iPhone X’s TrueDepth camera and according to Apple, it is “a powerful and secure authentication system,” which can also be used for Apple Pay.

Like we saw at the launch, the feature projects and analyzes over 30,000 invisible dots just to be able to create a precise map of your face, even in a low light environment (thanks to its infrared light). Read the Full review here

According to Apple, the Face ID is more secure and safe than the Touch ID. In their words; “there is one in a million chances of a random person unlocking your iPhone with Face ID”. Personally, i think both Face ID and Touch ID would have been perfect, and both of them together would have provided the best security we have ever seen on a smartphone.

For those thinking of buying the iPhone X. How do you feel about the missing fingerprint scanner? Would you still buy the iPhone X? Let us know in the comments.
