Here we will take through the specs and the price of Huawei Y9 Prime 2019 in Nigeria. The device was introduced in Nigeria on the 10th of July, 2019. This new device is not to be mistaken to last year’s Huawei Y9 2019 as they are both different devices. The new Huawei Y9 Prime 2019 have gotten a lot of people talking about its specs and features but most importantly the price. Now, before we get to the price of the new Huawei device, let’s take a look at what it has to offer.
Huawei Y9 Prime 2019 Specs
The new device goes with the recent full-screen trend sporting a massive 6.59-inch display with no notch or punch-hole, pushing the single front-facing camera into the pop-up mechanism at the top left side of the device. The display here is an LTPS IPS LCD panel with a 1080 x 2340 pixel screen resolution, 391 pixels per inch density and of course, a 19:9 aspect ratio.
Inside the device is Huawei’s own Hisilicon Kirin 710F SoC with an octa-core processor clocked at 2.2GHz and a Mali-G51 MP4 GPU for graphics/gaming. 4GB of RAM takes care of the multitasking while 64GB or 128GB of internal storage (depending on the configuration you opt for) take care of your files. There is also a microSD card that can accommodate up to 1TB of additional storage.
As expected of a 2019 Android smartphone, it runs the latest Android 9.0 Pie out of the box laced with Huawei’s EMUI 9. It also has a Triple camera set-up at the back which includes a main 16MP wide camera with PDAF, a secondary 8MP ultra-wide camera and a 2MP depth sensor camera. It is also accompanied by an LED flash and a fingerprint sensor for biometric unlock. For selfies, the 16MP camera in the pop-up compartment does the job.
A 4,000mAh battery on the inside keeps the lights on with no word yet on fast charging support. The battery can be charged via the USB Type-C port which also supports USB OTG.

As for the pricing, Huawei announced in Nigeria that Huawei Y9 Prime will sell for around N83,000 – N85,000 depending on the storage option. We’ll have to wait for the official info from Huawei if the one in Nigeria will be available into versions as well
