The Infinix Hot 6 and Hot 6 Pro are the latest instalments in the Hot budget series from Infinix. Compared to other Hot smartphones, the Hot 6 and Hot 6 Pro is a major leap in terms of design, camera and features.

They both come with the trending dual rear camera and bezel-less display, for the full view experience. This is also the first Hot budget smartphone with the Snapdragon chip for the Nigerian Market. The devices was launched in Lagos and would be available nationwide from the first week of June. But what are the major differences between these devices? Which one gives true value for money? In terms of design, you can’t tear them apart. They both come with a polycarbonate design with dual sleek antenna lines. There’s a fingerprint scanner at the rear, which grants quick access to the device. At the top left corner, the beautiful dual rear BV shooters sit pretty and ready for what it’s meant for.

At the rear, we can all see the new feature the Hot 6 comes with. The dual 13MP + 2MP rear shooters are always ready for some photography fun. The same 13MP + 2MP camera is on the Hot 6 Pro. The cameras come with lots of quality features you can use to enhance your photography.

There’s portrait mode, wide angle mode, digital zoom, autofocus, HDR, ISO settings, panorama, scene mode, self-timer and lots more. A LED flash is ready to brighten up photographs taken in low light environments. The 5MP selfie camera is present on both devices as well.

There’s a bit difference here, the Hot 6 packs 2GB of RAM and 16GB storage space. While the Hot 6 Pro comes with a bigger 3GB of RAM and 32GB storage space. However, they are both upgradeable up to 128GB using a memory card. They both run on the latest Android 8.1 Oreo operating system.

The Infinix Hot 6 is less expensive and will retail between N40,000 – N50,000. But if you want to lay your hands on the Infinix Hot 6 Pro, be ready to spend between N50,000 – N60,000.


To be honest, the Infinix Hot 6 won’t multitask heavy apps swiftly, with just 2GB RAM and running on Oreo which takes up almost 1GB of RAM. The Infinix Hot 6 Pro will be able to multitask heavy apps smoothly with 3GB of RAM. You can go for the Hot 6, only if you’re a user of light apps but if you want to take things further, the Infinix Hot 6 Pro is highly recommended.
