This smartphone has a flagship-like body build. It features a Corning Gorilla Glass 5 at the back and frame. The polished glass back has two colour options – Blue Marble and Gray Onyx. The front side is home to an AMOLED display which has a pill-shaped hole for its dual selfie camera. Measuring 8.2mm in thickness, it considered to be sleek and weighs 184 grams. The phone does not have any water-resistant rating but OnePlus was kind enough to state that a team of 300 engineers subjected the device to rigorous tests which include artificial sweat and drops. For your biometric security, the phone supports both an in-display fingerprint scanner and face unlock system.

The OnePlus Nord has a 6.44″ Fluid AMOLED display which covered with a Corning Gorilla Glass 5. The display features a 90Hz refresh rate, 1080 x 2400 pixels resolution, 20:9 aspect ratio and 408 PPI density. Sadly, there is no HDR support, but we do get P3 and sRGB display modes.

Hardware and Software

The mid-range smartphone is powered by the Snapdragon 765G SoC, which features an Octa-core 2.4GHz processor and an Adreno 620 GPU. The gaming chip has a 5G modem and is paired with either an 8GB or a 12GB of RAM plus a 128GB or 256 of UFS 2.1 storage. Software-wise, it runs on the company’s OxygenOS 10 custom skin based on Android 10 OS. As expected, you’re guaranteed to receive two years of OS updates and one year of security patches.

Camera & Battery Life

The OnePlus Nord features a well-arranged Quad rear camera system. It imports the 48MP f/1.8 main lens featured on the company’s 2020 flagship OnePlus 8. While the other three camera consists of an 8MP f/2.3 ultrawide lens with a 119° Field of View, a 5MP f/2.4 depth sensor and a 2MP f/2.4 macro lens.

The dual selfie camera located inside a pill-shaped hole at the top left corner of the display consists of a 32MP IMX616 f/2.5 sensor and an 8MP f/2.5 ultrawide angle sensor with 105° Field of View. The dual selfie camera can record 4K videos at both 30fps and 60fps while the Quad camera at the back can only record 4K videos at 30fps. For comparison, the OnePlus 8 features a single 16MP f/2.0 selfie camera.

Inside of the OnePlus Nord is a non-removable 4,115 mAh battery capacity. It comes with a Warp Charge 30T charger out of the box. The charger via the USB-C port uses an hour to get 70% from 0%.
