Oppo’s sub-brand Realme has released the Realme 6, successor of the Realme 5 which was released just five months ago. The Realme 6 debuts alongside a Pro version – Realme 6 Pro.
The Realme 6
The smartphone features a 6.5-inch display with FHD+ resolution and 90Hz refresh rate. The display is being protected by a Corning Gorilla Glass 3, which is a pretty old version. There is a punch-hole in the display that houses a 16MP f/2.0 selfie snapper.
The Realme 6 is the company’s first device with a MediaTek gaming-oriented chipset. The G90T chip is built on 12nm manufacturing process technology and features Octa-core CPU (two Cortex A76 big cores 2.05GHz & six Cortex-A55 2.0GHz power-efficient cores) and Mali-G76 MC4 GPU. The chip is married with either 4GB, 6GB or an 8GB RAM. It comes in two UFS2.1 storage options; 64GB and 128GB.
The quad-camera module at the back is home to a 64MP Samsung ISOCELL Bright GW1 sensor, an 8MP f/2.3 ultrawide sensor, a dedicated 2MP macro camera and a 2MP B&W snapper for portrait mode.
Inside the phone is a non-removable 4,300 mAh battery capacity. It supports a 30W fast charging that takes just one hour to full charge.
The Realme 6 pre-order starts today with official sales to begin on March 11 by at Realme.com and Flipkart. The starting prices are $177 for the 4/64GB base model, $204 for the 6/128GB version nd $218 for the 8/128GB model.
The Realme 6 Pro
There aren’t much that separates the Pro model here. It is powered by the Snapdragon 720G chipset, which is also a gaming-oriented chip but from a different company (Qualcomm). Its display measures 6.6-inch with same FHD+ resolution and 90Hz refresh rate.
The device features two selfie camera housed in a pill-shaped hole in the display. The set-up is a 16MP f/2.0 Sony IMX471 camera and an 8MP ultrawide unit with 105° Field of View. The back camera module swapped the 2MP B&W sensor for a 12MP f/2.5 telephoto sensor to go with the 64MP main, 8MP ultrawide and 2MP macro lens.
Both the Realme 6 and 6 Pro runs on the company’s user interface which is based on the Android 10 operating system.
The Realme 6 Pro will be available in three memory variants; the 6/64GB costs $232, the 6/128GB goes for $245, and the top 8/128GB will set you back $260.
