Samsung Galaxy S21 and S21+ debuts with new design and 1080p+ display

Two weeks into 2021 and Samsung mobile are back with the Galaxy S21 series. The lineup has three devices – Galaxy S21, S21+ and S21 Ultra. The Ultra version is superior in terms of specs and features.

Samsung Galaxy S21 which is the base version of this series comes with a 6.2″ panel with 1080p+ resolution and 120Hz refresh rate, which can be reduced to as low as 48Hz via an Adaptive Refresh Rate (ARR) tech.

The display’s cutout features a 10MP f/2.2 selfie camera with Dual Pixel. At the back are three cameras – a 12MP f/1.8 main lens with Dual Pixel AF and OIS, a 12MP ultrawide lens with 120° FoV, and a 64MP f/2.0 telephoto lens with 1.1x optical and 3x hybrid zoom.

Battery capacity is at 4,000 mAh just like the 2020 model. The Galaxy S21 comes in two versions of chipsets, they both have a 5nm manufacturing process technology – Snapdragon 888 and Exynos 2100 chips.

Samsung Galaxy S21+ being the plus version comes with a larger display measuring at 6.7″. It also sports a bigger 4,800 mAh battery capacity.

Both models support the same 25W fast charging, 15W wireless charging and 9W reverse wireless charging. Memory-wise, they both have the 8/128GB and 12/256GB options.

The Samsung Galaxy S21 starts at €850/£770 while the S21+ comes at €1,050/£950. Pre-orders start tomorrow (January 15) and come with a free Samsung SmartTag plus a pair of Galaxy Buds Live. The Galaxy S21 duo will be in stores from January 29.
