Sony Xperia XZ3 has been introduced at IFA as the latest flagship smartphone from Sony. This is coming barely six months after we saw the XZ2 Premium make its debut.
The Xperia XZ3 comes loaded with the Snapdragon 845 chipset and a big, curved and tall OLED display. Furthermore, it sports a single rear camera which is obviously a downgrade from the two we saw on the XZ2 Premium.

Design And Display
The device looks absolutely stunning, it’s obvious Sony has been experimenting with design. The XZ3 looks like a soap bar with its curved sides and edges. There’s a Corning Gorilla Glass 5 on top of its aluminium alloy overall unibody.
The rear features are still in its usual position just the way Sony likes it. The phone comes IP68 certifications offering water and dust resistant. It measures 9.9mm in thickness and weighs 193g overall.
Turning to the front, we will be greeted by the big, curved and tall OLED display. This is Sony’s first smartphone with this screen type. The selfie camera and speaker grille are seen at the top. While another Sony logo sits at the bottom. It sports a tall 6-inch QHD+ OLED capacitive touchscreen with a resolution of 1440 x 2880 pixels and 537 pixels per inch density for sharp visuals. The screen also stretches up to 80.5% screen-to-body ratio.
Hardware and Software
Under the hood, the Snapdragon 845 chip from Qualcomm takes the lead. It comes with its 10nm process node and 8-cores of processor clocking at 2.7GHz. In the graphics department, the Adreno 630 graphics card controls graphics.
For multitasking, you get the usual 4GB of RAM space available to do the job with a memory speed of 1866MHz. In the storage department, the device boasts of 64GB but you can upgrade up to 500GB. It also runs on Android 9.0 Pie out of the box as well.
Camera And Connectivity
Sony brought on its AI-powered with Motion Eye 19MP rear camera with f/2.0 aperture. The camera also has the BIONZ processing algorithm with 1.22µm pixel size. While the selfie camera is a 13MP shooter with f/1.9 aperture.
The Xperia XZ3 supports 4G LTE connectivity and accommodates dual Nano SIMs. It also has support for Bluetooth 5.0, USB Type C, Wi-Fi, Wi-Fi Hotspot and A-GPS, GLONASS.
Battery And Availability
The Sony Xperia XZ3 is powered by a non-removable 3300mAh battery with fast charging technology. Sony Xperia XZ3 will be available on shopping stores, starting from $899 to $999, that’s about (N310,000 – N350,000).
