The TA3 has a Plastic back that’s quite attractive, it looks like what we typically see from most Chinese OEMs. It comes with a fingerprint scanner, something that was missing in the TA2. The fingerprint scanner should be much faster than the Face ID on the device.

There’s a vertical train going on at the top middle, the rear camera starts on top, while the LED flash follows closely before the fingerprint sensor. It measures 10.1mm in thickness and weighs 133.2g overall. You can get it in Metallic Blue, Champagne and Jet Black colours.

The screen dishes out an 18:9 aspect ratio and it looks rather too small for a modern-day screen. It definitely not for big screen lovers, but at least it offers the full view experience. It also offers taller visuals in landscape mode as well.

It’s built around a small 4.95-inch FWVGA+ IPS LCD capacitive touchscreen, this small screen has 480 x 960 pixels in resolution and 195 pixels per inch density. The screen has a 2.5D curved glass on top and stretches up to 77% screen-to-body ratio.

Hardware and Software

Under the hood, the MT6737 chip from MediaTek is in charge here, it’s built on a 28nm process technology. It comes with a 4-core processor which clocks at a slow speed of 1.1GHz. In the graphics department, the ARM Mali-720 MP2 graphics card does its job.

There’s still 1GB RAM space available for extremely light multitasking. However, the storage space has been bumped up to 16GB and can upgrade up to 64GB using a memory card. It runs on an older Android 7.0 Nougat operating system.

Tambo TA3 Camera

The Tambo TA3 is equipped with a 5MP AF rear camera and a LED flash for taking clear photographs in low light. Features on the camera include Face beauty, panorama, burst mode, sticker and others. There’s another 5MP selfie camera that has a LED flash as well for selfies in low light environments.

Network and Connectivity

The device supports 4G VoLTE and can accommodate dual Nano SIMs and a microSD card. It has Bluetooth 4.2, Wi-Fi, Wi-Fi Hotspot and A-GPS, GLONASS.

Tambo TA3 Battery

The Tambo TA3 is powered by a non-removable Li-Ion 2100mAh battery with no fast charging technology. Tambo TA3 will be available online starting from $79 to $99, that’s about (N25,000 – N35,000).
