Tecno Camon 15 Specs and Price in Nigeria

Tecno Camon 15 has been launched in India and soon to be released in Nigeria. As many Camon Series lovers are expecting Camon 13, it is now apparent after the Indian launch that the Camon 15 will be succeeding the Camon 12 of last year. Just like last year, the Camon 15 also comes with a pro version called Camon 15 Premier or Camon 15 Pro

So from the look of things, the device might be unveiled this month in Nigeria if the posts on the brand social media pages are to be taken seriously. The Camon 15 will bring a lot of improvements compared to its predecessor.

From the leak we got online, The Tecno Camon 15 has an HD 6.5-inch IPS LCD display with punch hole, a MediaTek Helio P35 SoC coupled with 4GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage.

It also has a triple rear camera – one of which is a 48MP sensor – runs Android 10 out of the box and is powered by a 5,000mAh battery capacity. Let’s find out more.

Design And Display

Tecno Camon 15 has a big 6.5-inch all-screen display with no notch; instead, it uses a punch hole at the top left corner to house the front-facing camera. The display itself is IPS LCD display with an HD+ resolution and a 270ppi in a 19:9 aspect ratio. It also has a slab of glass on top of the display for protection.

There is also another slab of glass at the back with an aluminium frame along the sides. Still at the back of the device, there is a triple rear camera in a rectangular shape bump along with a Quad-LED flash.

Also, there is a fingerprint sensor at the back for biometric unlock. This device weighs about 195grams and measures 9.1mm in thickness, thanks to the big battery on the inside. Colour options for the Tecno Camon 15 are a Blue-Green Gradient and Red, both of which reflects light in the most beautifully subtle way.

The camera department is packed with a total of 5 cameras; 4 at the rear and 1 at the front. The one at the front in the punch hole on the screen is a single 8MP sensor with an f/2.0 aperture and HDR, capable of shooting 1080p videos at 30fps and can also be used for facial recognition, also known as face Unlock.

At the rear, we have a 48MP main sensor with an f/1.7 aperture, a 16MP ultrawide sensor with an f/2.3 aperture and two 2MP sensors; a depth sensor and a dedicated macro sensor, both with an f/2.4 aperture. This is accompanied by a Quad-LED flash for photography in low light.

Features of the rear camera include HDR, Panorama and the ability to shoot not just 1080p videos at 30fps like the front-facing camera, but can also shoot 2160p videos as well, with gyro-EIS too.

Hardware and Software

Tecno Camon 15 houses one of the newer mid-range SoC from Mediatek; Helio P35. This Chipset is based on a new architecture with octa-core processor clocking speeds of up 2.0GHz alongside a PowerVR GE8320 GPU for games as well as graphics.

This SoC is connected to the 4GB of RAM onboard this device. Unfortunately, there is no other Variant/version with a bigger RAM or at least not yet. Thankfully, the 64GB of internal storage it comes with can be expanded up to 256GB via the dedicated microSD card slot. It runs Android 10 out of the box which as we know will be laced with Tecno’s own HiOS skin.

Battery and Connectivity

Tecno Camon 15 has a hefty 5,000mAh battery on the inside which should be able to comfortably get you through a full day without charge. Charging, as well as file transfer, can be through the dated MicroUSB port. It also comes with 10W fast charging for quick refills.

No 5G or NFC here but Other features like 4G LTE, Bluetooth, dual-band WiFi, WiFi hotspot, GPS, FM radio and a 3.5mm jack with Dolby atmos are all present.

Although Tecno Camon 15 isn’t out as at the time of writing this, the expected price is set to be between N50,000 – N53,000 and should be hitting the shelves pretty soon.
