TECNO recently unveiled the Camon iAce 2 as a successor to last year’s Camon iAce and this time around, it arrived in two versions. The TECNO Camon iAce 2 and Camon iAce 2X. We will be taking a look at the Camon iAce 2 here which comes 5.5-inch Notchless display, MediaTek Helio A22, dual rear camera setup with an AI infused front-facing camera and a 3,050mAh battery capacity. Let’s dive a little deeper.

Tecno Camon iAce 2 Design And Display

Tecno Camon iAce 2’s body is made of plastic and comes in two colours options; Blue and Black. It weighs 150 grams and measures 8.5mm in thickness. The top left side of the device’s back is occupied by a dual camera setup with a no fingerprint sensor in sight.

At the front is the 5.5-inch display which has a 720 x 1440 pixel screen resolution, 293ppi and an 18:9 aspect ratio, leaving more than enough room at the top for the front facing camera which can also be used for face unlock. We also have the proximity sensor and speaker grill at the top bezel with an equal amount of bezel at the bottom.

There is a dual 13MP camera with an f/1.8 paired with a secondary 0.3MP camera at the back which makes portrait photos possible. It is also equipped with a dual-LED flash for low light photos along with HDR and Panorama. 1080p video recording is also possible at 30fps. As for selfies, this device uses a front-facing 8MP camera which has an f/2.0 aperture and can be used for the only form of biometric verification/authentication on this device – Face Unlock.

TECNO Camon iAce 2 Hardware and Software

A MediaTek Helio A22 SoC drives this device which has a Quad-Core processor clocked at 2.0GHz alongside a PowerVR GE8320 GPU. It is packed with 2GB of RAM for smooth multitasking and 32GB internal storage for files. The storage space can be expanded further via a microSD card, up to 128GB. TECNO Camon iAce 2 runs TECNO’s HiOS 4.1 out of the box which is based on the not so latest Android Operating System – Android 8.1 Oreo.

Battery & Network Connectivity

A 3,050mAh battery capacity powers this device with no word on fast charging. It also has dual 4G VoLTE connectivity, WiFi, WiFi direct, WiFi hotspot, Bluetooth, GPS, 3.5mm jack, Face Unlock a.k.a FaceID and a micro USB port with support for USB On The Go.
