TECNO recently added a new device to the Pouvoir Line up under the name TECNO Pouvoir 2 Air. This is coming as a toned down version of the two bigger TECNO Pouvoir 2 and 2 Pro. Impressively, the TECNO Pouvoir 2 Air is still packing the massive 5,000mAh battery which is on it’s two bigger siblings. It also has a 6-inch Display, two cameras and ships with Android 8.1 Oreo (Go Edition) out of the box. Let’s find out more.

TECNO Pouvoir 2 Air Design And Display

Merely looking at the TECNO Pouvoir 2 Air, it looks identical to the Pouvoir 2 and 2 Pro with its plastic body and the antenna lines at the top and bottom. A single rear camera sits on top of the fingerprint sensor at the back with the dual-LED in the middle of both.

Tecno Pouvoir 2 Air Go edition

At the front is a massive 6-inch IPS display with a 720 x 1440 screen resolution and an 18:9 aspect ratio. The single front-facing camera sits at the top bezel with an LED flash by the side. The device comes in the same colour options as the other two Pouvoir devices – Aqua Blue, Midnight Black and Champagne Gold. It also weighs 174 grams and measures 8.5mm in thickness.

TECNO Pouvoir 2 Air Camera Review

There are a total of two cameras on this device. The rear facing camera is a single 13MP camera with f/2.0 aperture which is accompanied by a dual-LED flash. It is also equipped with AutoFocus and Panorama those wide-angle shots and is capable of 720p video recording at 30fps. The selfie camera is a 5MP shooter, also with an f/2.0 aperture and an LED flash for low light shots. The front facing camera is also used for FaceID which this device has.

TECNO Pouvoir 2 Air Hardware and Software

At the heart of this device is the Mediatek MT6580A SoC which has a Quad-Core processor clocked at 1.3GHz paired with a Mali-400MP2 GPU for graphics and games. This device only comes in one configuration which is the one with 1GB of RAM and 16GB of expandable storage. Storage space can be expanded further, up to 32GB using a microSD card. As for the operating system, it obviously runs Android 8.1 Oreo Go Edition which has TECNO’s HiOS slapped on top.

Battery & Network Connectivity

Tecno Pouvoir 2 Air is powered by a massive 5,000mAh battery which can comfortably last you a full day without charge. It also has an impressive 4-day standby time, 145hours music playback time and 44 hour call time. Unfortunately, there is no fast charging so charging this device will take up quite some time. There is also no 4G LTE connectivity, however, there is 3G and 2G. Bluetooth, WiFi, WiFi hotspot, WiFi direct, GPS and a Micro USB 2.0 port with support for USB On The are all available.

TECNO Pouvoir 2 Air Price and Availability

Price for this device starts at $90 which is approximately N33,000. For a budget device with this kind of battery, which is the selling point of this device and the Pouvoir line up as a whole, it isn’t bad.
