Tecno Mobile unveiled a new smartphone today in the Philippines. The new Tecno Pova 2 is a self-proclaimed budget gaming smartphone with a huge 7,000 mAh battery capacity.
The gaming device is built around a big 6.9″ screen with a 20.5:9 aspect ratio, 1080p+ resolution, a 180Hz touch sampling rate and a standard 60Hz refresh rate.
Underneath the Tecno Pova 2 is the MediaTek Helio G85 chip which features two Cortex-A75 cores and a Mali G52 MC2 GPU. The chip is paired with a standard 6GB RAM and 128GB built-in storage. There is a microSD card if the built-in storage isn’t enough for you. Running inside the Pova 2 is the Android 11 operating system with Tecno’s HiOS 7.6. To boost the CPU and GPU, the device features an ET Game Engine and Game Space 2.0 which the company boasts about its optimization prowess. They proclaim that the systems are designed with the Mobile Legends: Bang Bang MOBA game in mind.
The Pova 2’s 7,000 mAh battery which is 1,000 mAh bigger than the original Pova phone, can endure a long gaming session. Charging support is at 18W via USB Type-C.
On the back of the Tecno phone is a Quad camera module consisting of a 48MP f/1.8 main lens and three 2MP lenses. The selfie camera sports an 8MP sensor.
The Tecno Pova 2 will be available for pre-order on June 5 with the sales expected to start on June 11. The phone will go live through several online retailers in the Philippines like Lazada, Shopee, Memo Express, and Kimstore. Each online retailer offers different pre-order packages.
