Tecno Spark K7 Vs Infinix Hot 5
TECNO SPARK K7 VS INFINIX HOT 5: Tecno’s new midrange series “TECNO Spark” has a good camera and decent specs when you consider the price. The Spark K7 released this year is a beauty. The same thing applies to the Infinix Hot 5 which focus is better sound and better battery life.
Tecno Spark K7 and Infinix Hot 5 were released the same month, and they almost have the same specs. No device is handicapped in this comparison as they both will be going head to head in this Tecno Spark K7 Vs Infinix Hot 5 specs comparison.
They are both midrange devices, retailing for less than N40,000 with average specs. Do you want to know which one is better overall, going with the specs? Which one has a better camera? Before you buy any of the smartphones, stay with me lets as I compare these two devices.
Tecno Spark K7 Vs Infinix Hot 5-The DESIGN
You can hardly tear them apart, they both look kinda identical from a distance. They were both designed with a plastic cover at the back. The Spark K7’s rear camera and LED Flash were placed vertically, like on the iPhone 7. While on the Hot 5, the rear camera was horizontally placed with the LED Flash.
If you like a slimmer and weightless device, the Spark K7 should be your device of choice. The device measures 7.9mm slim and weighing just 102g, while the Hot 5 is a little too bulky, measuring 8.35mm and weighing 168g.
Both are dual sim enabled, have visible fingerprint scanner at the back and available in many beautiful colours. For weighing less and being much more slimmer, Spark K7 wins the Design round.
Tecno Spark K7 Vs Infinix Hot 5-The DISPLAY
In terms of display, both smartphones are equipped with the same 5.5-inch LCD HD IPS multi-touch touchscreen. Both won’t win any award in this regard.
Additionally, they both have the same 720 x 1280 pixels screen resolution and 267 pixels per inch density. Tough right? Both screens are quite competitive with each other, its difficult to tell them apart.
Where thing starts to get more noticeable are the bezels. The screen to body ratio on the Spark K7 is far better, with tiny side bezels. It’s 2017 and I believe lots of smartphone’s enthusiasts hate bezels as well. TECNO and Infinix are yet to implement the bezel-less trend on any of their devices.
So display-wise, it is hard to judge which is better here.
But if I may ask, will you pick the Tecno Spark K7 as the winner here?
Tecno Spark K7 Vs Infinix Hot 5- The CAMERA
Tecno Spark K7 sports a 13MP rear camera, which according to users of both devices, is better than the 8MP rear camera on the Hot 5. The rear camera on the Spark K7 captures images up to 3264×2448-pixel, with HDR, autofocus, Geo-tagging, face detection and single LED flash. While the features of the rear camera on the Hot 5 includes; autofocus, single-LED flash, Geo-tagging, touch focus, face detection, panorama and auto-HDR.
At the front, they are both equipped with the same 5MP selfie camera with dedicated LED flash. Tecno Spark K7 wins this Camera round.
Tecno Spark K7 Vs Infinix Hot 5-HARDWARE AND SOFTWARE
The chipset on both devices is the MediaTek MT6580, which clocks at Quad-core 1.3 GHz Cortex-A53 CPU. When it comes to RAM size, the TECNO Spark K7 has 1GB of RAM while Hot 5 has 2GB of RAM.
There is a 2GB variant for Spark, so for fair comparison, I will be using the TECNO Spark 2GB variant here.
In terms of Multitasking and App launching, both phones are technically the same. Since they both have the same graphics processing unit, 16GB storage upgradeable to 32GB, runs on Android 7.1 Nougat OS.
Tecno Spark K7 Vs Infinix Hot 5-The BATTERY
This is a sweet victory for the Infinix Hot 5, thanks to the 4000mAh Li-Ion battery powering the Hot 5. The 3000mAh Li-Po battery on the Spark K7 is okay, but not up to the one on the Hot 5.
Tecno Spark K7 Vs Infinix Hot 5-The Price
Hot 5 goes for N37,000 on Jumia, while the Spark K7 goes for N32,000 on Jumia. If you are on a budget and can manage a slow device, go for the Spark K7. But if you want a fast device, especially when multitasking apps and you can easily afford an extra N7000. Then go for the Hot 5, personally, i think the extra N7000 is totally worth it.

Overall, this could have been an easy victory for Tecno Spark K7 but the 1GB of RAM is pretty disappointing. Depending on what you want in a phone though, but Infinix Hot 5 is not that bad. Let us know in the comment section, which one you would be going for.
