The Xiaomi’s first Android Go smartphone has been unveiled officially. The device will be running on Android 8.1 Oreo (Go edition) with IGB RAM and either 8GB or 16GB storage space which can be expanded with a microSD card. The device came with a hybrid slot so you will have to choose between having a dual sim or having single + microSD. You can’t be able to have both at a time.
The Redmi Go came with a smaller 5-inches display with 1280x720px resolution with 16:9 aspect ratio. It came with an 8MP main camera with liquid flash and a 5MP selfie snapper.
The device will be powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 425 with 4 Cortex-A53 cores running at a 1.4GHz. It came with a 3,000mAh battery capacity. Although if you consider the small screen and the small chipset, you will see that the battery capacity is not that bad.
The Phone will be sold at €80 across Europe and the sale will start from February. Xiaomi is yet to unveil the price of the device in Philippine and they are yet to disclose if the device will be available in other markets. What do you think about this device? Do you think that Xiaomi can penetrate the African market with this device?
