Xiaomi Redmi Pro Review

Xiaomi Redmi Pro is one of Xiaomi’s midrange devices, it is one of the cheapest smartphones with the trending dual rear camera. Xiaomi is wildly known for their extensive features even on their midrange line, the Redmi series. This device has everything you need if you are on a budget and looking to get value for your money. Plus you will be using a device with the trending dual rear cameras, for just $199.

Xiaomi Redmi Pro DESIGN

Xiaomi Redmi Pro has a brushed aluminium body, with a typically mixed metal chassis. The Redmi Pro does not just look great, it feels great in your hand too. Xiaomi added hairline brush strokes across the back of the device to achieve a premium texture and overall appearance. The device is available in three premium colours, you can get it in Silver, Gold and Grey.

Xiaomi Redmi Pro DISPLAY

This smartphone was released in 2016, so I will excuse the annoying bezels (just 72.2% screen-to-body ratio). It sports a 5.5″ ultra-high contrast OLED display, with the OLED display illuminating individual pixels on the screen. Viewing the world on an OLED display is as vibrant as a VR, and with 100% NTSC everything you see on screen is incredibly vivid and true to life.

For a midrange price, this is one hell of a fast device. You think octa-core is fast? The Redmi Pro boasts of a Deca-core 2.5 GHz maximum clock speed. It houses a MediaTek MT6797T Helio X25 chipset, and with 4GB of RAM, the Redmi Pro is fast and responsive in just about everything. From multitasking, launching apps and intensive gameplay, you don’t need to worry about a lagging device.

There’s also a 128GB internal storage space for storing all files and if that isn’t enough, you can expand up to 256GB with MicroSD. Xiaomi Redmi Pro runs on Android 6.0 Marshmallow with MIUI 8.0 skin.

The dual 13MP + 5MP camera on this device is mind-blowing. It performs better than most midrange device within its price tag. I mean, when you combine a 13MP Sony IMX 258 sensor and a 5MP Samsung sensor on the back of a device. What will you get? Two parallel lenses that capture the most amazing depth of field photography on a midrange device. The 5MP selfie camera on the Redmi Pro captures your face and beautifies it before automatically saving it in the gallery.

Xiaomi Redmi Pro BATTERY

Xiaomi Redmi Pro is powered by a 4050mAh Non-removable battery, with an endurance rating of up to 80 hours.

Xiaomi Redmi Pro is available for just $199, that’s about N70,000 – N85,000.
