Design And Display

The display, or rather displays of the ZTE Nubia X is one of its Selling point. The 6.2-inch LTPS IPS LCD display on this device has a screen resolution of 1080 x 2280 pixels and achieving an impressive 93% screen to Body ratio. The aspect ratio stands tall at 19:9 with no notch in sight. This is because the notch was made to house the camera which has been solved here by placing another 5.1-inch HD+ screen (720 x 1520 resolution) at the back which makes it possible to use the rear camera as a selfie camera. The additional screen at the back can also be use to map out controls as you like while gaming.

There is no in-display fingerprint sensor here and with the secondary screen at the back taking over the real estate space, the fingerprint sensors have been moved to the side. Actually, it has been moved to both sides as there aren’t just one, but two fingerprint sensors placed on both sides of the device. Lastly, The device measures at 8.4mm thickness, weighs 181 grams and is available in colours Blue gold, Sea blue, Black gold and Deep gray.

Hardware and Software

Doing all the work on the inside is a Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 processor clocked at 2.65GHz and an Adreno 630 GPU. For multitasking, there are two versions of 6GB and 8GB Of RAM. The 6GB version comes with only one storage option – 64GB while the the 8GB RAM version comes with two storage options – 128GB and 256GB. There is no MicroSD card slot on any of the device variants to expand it’s storage space. It runs on Android 8.1 Oreo out of the box with the Nubia UI 6.0 on top.

Camera, Battery & Connectivity

In the camera department, we have only a Dual camera setup of 16MP + 24MP rear facing camera just above the secondary screen with f/1.8 and f/1.7 aperture respectively. There is no front facing camera as the rear facing camera can be used for that, thanks to the secondary screen at the back. The camera has a Dual-LED, dual tone flash and can record 4K videos at 30fps.

Keeping the device juiced up is a 3800mAh battery which supports Quick charge 4.0. There is also no 3.5mm jack here. Bluetooth 5.0, 4G LTE, USB Type-C and USB On The Go are all present.
